Coca-Cola Chicken Wings

Coca Cola Wings
Coca-Cola chicken wings is a very common and popular dish. Not sure who discovered this dish, or how anyone thought of boiling wings in Coca-Cola, but thank goodness they made this. The wings are tasty, and easy to make.

The wings are marinaded in a savoury mixture, and then pan-seared in a hot pan. These wings are then braised in Coca-Cola until the liquid has reduced to a thick, sticky and syrupy glaze. Delicious and finger-licking good wings!


So what you will need is:

1 tablespoon oil
1 lb chicken wings
¼ cup light soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice wine
1 thumb of ginger, sliced (6 grams)
1 garlic clove
1 can coca cola (not diet or flavoured coca cola)
2 tablespoon brown sugar
scallions to garnish
sesame seeds to garnish
1 thai red chili, optional

1. Marinade the chicken wings in light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine for 15 minutes.

2. Heat oil on medium-high heat in wok or saucepan, add the ginger and garlic. Fry for about a minute until fragrant, then add the wings and brown chicken on both sides.

3. Add Coca-Cola, brown sugar, and any residual marinade. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce is reduced to a thick & sticky syrup, turning once halfway.

4. Plate and garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.
