Tropica Restaurant is attached to the Westin resort. After a few hours of tanning, we were hungry and wanted somewhere close to eat for lunch. So we decided to check out Tropica. It is located on Ka’anapali beach, right along the boardwalk, so you get amazing waterfront views. I would say the best time to come to the restaurant would be around 8pm when the sun is setting and you can see the beautiful shades of pink and orange hues lighting up the sky, as well as the dazzling view of the Pacific Ocean.
We actually had a snack/happy hour meal here at Tropica around 3:30pm. The restaurant was quite empty because the sun was scorching hot,and there was not much shade to hide under at the restaurant. We managed to find a space beside the restaurants manmade soft tumbling waterfall, and hid under the shade provided by the umbrella.
There was a discounted menu during happy hour so we ordered a few dishes off that menu. The happy hour menu was pretty good. Expect $5 for select appetizers, $3 for select draft beer, and $6 for select cocktails.
What we ordered:
Firecracker Spring Rolls
Fresh Crab Rangoon
Sea Salt Shoestring Fries
I found the food average. There was nothing spectacular. The service was good, the view was amazing, the prices were good, but the food.. was meh. I would come back, but maybe just for the view and prices.
