GINGER SYRUP – 10 WAYS TO USE IT!

  1. Add ginger syrup to hot water to make ginger tea.

  2. Substitute it as a sweetener in tea

  3. Use as a sweetener in tofu pudding

  4. Use as a sweetener when eating tang yuan or tangyuan

  5. Topping for oatmeal

  6. Make ginger ale by adding a tablespoon to sparkling soda

How to make Ginger Syrup Makes 1 cup

Ingredients: 3-inch fresh ginger 8 oz rock sugar or cane sugar 1 cup water


  1. Slice the ginger and then cut into match stick chunks.

  2. In a sauce pan, add the water, ginger, and rock sugar or cane sugar.

  3. Turn up the heat to high to boil, then lower the heat to a simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. Set the wire sieve in the container.

  5. Remove from heat and pour into the wire sieve and discard the ginger. Allow to cool before refrigerating.
