World’s Simplest Cranberry Sauce

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

Cranberry Sauce - Finished

Basic cranberry sauce consists of cranberries boiled in a sugary liquid until the berries pop and the mixture thickens. The recipe is as simple as emptying the bag of cranberries into a saucepan, add sugar, and a liquid, then cook over low heat for about 10 minutes. The cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.

You can play with the recipe to how you like it. You can make the cranberry sauce with water, orange juice, apple juice, berry juice, pomegranate juice, pear juice etc. Add any of the following to spice up the flavour: lemon zest, orange zest, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, crystallized ginger.
